Meet Scarlett, the Amazing, Astounding, and Altogether Wonderful Orange Kitty!
carlett Sunshine is an orange girl, and purr-haps it is that orangeness that helps to make her what she is: simply amazing. Born on April 29, 2000, in Queens, New York, this little millennium girl is bold, adventurous, and absolutely adorable. She is the Audrey Hepburn of cats--sleek and elegant-looking, but a frolicking gamine, too.
Though she is the baby of the family, she's an innovator and a trailblazer. It is she who discovered the now well-worn path from the cat tree to the
roofs of the cuckoo clocks to the top of the highest bookcase. It is she who invented the death-defying flying leap from the top of the breakfront. It is she who taught Guinevere how to open the cabinet doors under the kitchen sink. It is she who figured out where the treats were hidden--and managed to get to them.
Sometimes the ways of ladyhood are a little difficult for Scarlett, but she has the heart and soul of a lady, for she is gentle and kind. Extremely clever, she tries mightily to explain certain feline needs and concepts to her human, who sadly lacks the wit to understand the subtle distinctions between such statements as meow mrrow MRROW and mrrow MEOW mrrow.
Completely secure in her own purr-son, she is fearless, and she has never unsheathed a claw in anger. Though she watches and admires Guinevere and enjoys an occasional game of leapcat with her, it is Rapunzel who is Scarlett's dearest friend, and she likes to give Rapunzel surprise hugs, pouncing on her when she's lost in thought--or sleep.
On the other paw, Scarlett has found dealing with her new sister, Dulcinea, quite challenging; she has been just a bit intimidated by the presence of another Refined Lady in the household.
Scarlett is attempting to become the world's first flying cat; though she often diligently practices being airborne, she has not yet quite mastered the technique of staying aloft for extended periods. She frequently chatters to the birds outside the window, clearly asking them to provide flying tips.
Though she is far too young to settle down, Scarlett is especially fond of a certain Siamese boy named Ka-Ching.
Scarlett never has a bit of orange fur out of place, and she has even been trying to teach herself to file her lovely long nails with an emery board by holding said implement in her mouth. If only she had opposable thumbs, this intelligent little girl could rule the world.
