Dulcinea Dulcinea's Den

Meet Dulcinea, the Elusive and Secretive Princess with a Mysterious Past!

fancy capital Dulcinea Cupcake, an alluring but aloof princess who bravely endured reduced circumstances and years of travail before claiming her rightful place in the feline aristocracy, is a ladycat of great elegance--and even greater mystery. And she's not about to reveal the intriguing secrets so carefully hidden behind her inscrutable gaze.

The meager facts we have been able to piece together yield few clues about the life of this exotic and enigmatic princess. What little we do know for sure is this. For some years before she came in from the cold, this charming femme fatale lived quietly on the streets of Queens, New York; though sadly impoverished, she was, by all accounts, a kindly cat, dainty and fastidious, and an exceptionally good mother to her many children. Secret Agent Dulcinea Though she probably would have scorned charity for herself, she graciously accepted gifts of food for the sake of her hungry little ones.

But beyond that, the mystery of Dulcinea is impenetrable: how, one must wonder, did a cat of such remarkable beauty and obvious nobility come to live on the mean streets, unrecognized and largely ignored? One witness has reported that Dulcinea was first seen as a beautiful kitten about seven years ago. Had she fled her castle one cold, starless night, to foil the evil designs of some dastardly villain? Was she the victim of some heinous skullduggery, innocently entangled in an evil plot? Was this delicate princess forced into exile after a palace coup, narrowly escaping an unspeakable fate?

And later, when the little princess grew up, did she become a leader of the ultra-secret Cat Underground, working courageously to help restore Dulcinea Gown the rightful monarchy of cats? Is that why the wily princess kept always to the shadows, a stealthy wraith, whispering secrets in the swirling darkness?

Alas, we shall never know for sure. But whatever her story, the young Dulcinea, with remarkable cleverness and bravery, adapted to her life with little complaint, learning the myriad skills necessary for a city cat to survive, trusting only a select few, but never forgetting her birthright.

For years Dulcinea stoically endured. Then one day a hapless human (who nevertheless was perceptive enough to recognize royalty) noticed Dulcinea in dire straits and said, "My goodness, this downtrodden kitty is a true princess! I must help her!" Tender-hearted Dulcinea decided the poor human needed to feel useful, so she kindly consented to join the human's household (even though that meant first enduring the ministrations of an evil veterinarian). The princess Dulcinea has resided with said human, and three other very refined cat sisters, since October 1, 2002.
